The Special Education Department will be hosting regional meetings for families and the community to learn about changes that are happening in Special Education in Seattle Public Schools. We want to listen to you and hear your questions. Please join Wyeth Jessee, the Executive Direction of Special Eduaction; Michaela Clancy, Director of Special Education, Kari Hanson, Director of School Based Special Education Services; the Regional supervisor for your area; the Special Education Obbudsperson and more Special Education staff. Our library was full for high school information night on January 27.
Principals and other staff from area high schools spoke about programs and opportunities available at each school. Open Enrollment is Feb. 23 to Mar. 6, 2015. Please follow up with counselors if you have further questions.
Our college preparation event was inspiring and helpful on Jan. 30.

to Focus on Technology in Learning
The School District is seeking parents and students to participate in its “Teaching & Learning (T&L) Technology Vision Summit” on Sat., Jan. 24.
This summit will also involve representatives from Seattle Public Schools (SPS) leadership, faculty, the City of Seattle, community partners, businesses, members of the SPS Technology Vision Taskforce and others. The session, 9 am-2 pm at Cleveland High School, will help create a vision for teaching & learning at SPS, and how technology will enable that vision. Registration is required by Dec. 31.
