Hello Aki Kurose Middle School Families,

We hope you and your family are safe, healthy and well.
We are now completing our second week of second quarter of the school year. Please log into The Source to check your children’s progress. If you need support logging in, please use the Seattle Public School’s website resources.

We know that this year filled has been filled with new challenges and stresses for both students and families and we want to provide students with resources and supports they need. In order to serve our Aki Kurose student community, the counseling and student support team uses a variety of tools and data to develop programs and interventions specific to our students. One of the tools used is the student needs assessment survey. This short survey, scheduled to be given in advisory class on November 30th, asks students how they are feeling about a variety of academic and social emotional topics. Based on survey responses, school counselors and school support staff may follow up with students individually to offer to check-ins and resources within the Aki community. Ultimately, we want to remove barriers for our students and ensure that they have access to programs, activities and supports to help them feel safe and welcomed within the school environment. If you would like to review the survey, please let us know and we will make one available to you by emailing If you would like to opt your student out of completing the needs assessment, please contact the main office at 206-252-7700.

Aki continues to be a food distribution site Monday through Friday from 11 AM to 1 PM, and a Technology Resource Center on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 AM to 2:30 PM. For more information about resources and academics, please visit our Aki Website.

Finally, next Thursday and Friday, November 26th and 27th, is Thanksgiving break, and there will be no school on both days.

Take good care, and go Peace Cranes!
